Q.- Do you have to use a wizard to create a bid?

A.- No. You can create a bid piece by piece. You can also use a combination of wizards and piece by piece. To add an inventory item to the bid do the following:

1. Select the bid button. (Roll of blueprints on the tool bar)

2. Select bid components. (Button in the bottom left of the window.)

3. Push the insert button.

4. Push the ellipse button (Button with three dots at the end of the field)

5. Select the appropriate inventory item.

6. Add the correct quantity.

 

Q.- Is there a quicker and easier way of adding inventory items?

A.- Yes. After you have entered an inventory item, all fields are retained in memory. Try the following:

1.Select the inventory button. (Looks like an Ell and Tee).

2. Push the Insert Button.

3. Fill in the fields as required.

4. When the program ask you if you want to enter another record say yes.

5. When a field is shown that you want duplicated from the previous record, right click and the field will be completed.

1. Select the inventory button. (Looks like an Ell and Tee).

2. Select the inventory item you want to copy.

3. Push the copy item button.

4. Make any necessary changes when the form is displayed.

 

 Q.- How do I use the Grid Wizard?

A.- Do the following:

1. Select the bid button. (Roll of blue prints on the tool bar)

2. Push the Insert button.

3. Fill in all information about your bid except the prices. (Name, address, client and etc.)

4. Select the Grid Wizard button.

5. Push the Insert button.

6. Fill in all information about your water supply and your system description.

7. Calculate the system by using the pipe size buttons until the pipe sizes are to your liking.

8. Push the Create Bid button.

9. Select the bid that you created in step one.

10. All items will be picked off and added to your bid. You may add additional items to your bid at this point by using another wizard or by adding inventory items and assemblies.

11. To review what items were added to your bid, do the following:

1. Select the bid button. (Roll of blueprints on the tool bar.)

2. Push the Components button. All items appropriate to this bid will be displayed.

 

Q: How do I group several bids together to form one complete bid?

A - Try using Work Sheets.

1. Select the Work Sheet button. (The button on the far left of the toolbar.)

2. Push the Insert button and create a new work sheet.

3. Create or edit your bids. (Roll of blueprints on the tool bar.)

4. The first items in the bid form asks for a work sheet. Select the Work Sheet that you made in steps 1-2.

5. When you are finished creating Bids, you may look at the total price by using the Work Sheet button and then selecting the Bids button.

6. You may have as many bids as you like. This feature is very handy for high rise buildings. Each bid can be a separate floor. The Work Sheet represents the entire building.

Q: My prices are all wrong in the components. They are much to high.

A - Chances are you have entered your tax rate incorrectly.

1.  The tax rate for KY is 0.06 NOT 0.60. This is a very common mistake. 0.60 would equal a 60% tax rate, 0.06 would equal a 6% tax rate.

    a. Use the pull down menu 'List'

    b. Select 'Tax'

    c. Change the tax rate.

2. Check your multipliers for your equipment. To have the prices calculate exactly as the items in your inventory list, all multipliers should be 1.00.

            a. Use the pull down menu 'List'

            b. Select 'Groups'

            c. Change the multipliers.
